Iced coffee fanatics face an uphill battle. It’s hard to find the perfect brew that isn’t watered down with melted ice while still dodging the massive up-charge most chains place on their colder beverages. But on Wednesday morning, Starbucks announced its latest attempt to remedy this summertime problem: bottled cold brew.
Starbucks described its bottled cold brew coffee, which will go on sale next month, as “an unsweetened coffee with a smooth taste and subtle chocolate notes.” It’s similar to the cold brew recipe currently available at storefronts, but its on-the-go packaging makes it more widely available and easier to stock up on.
Starbucks began shipping the product on Wednesday, and said it will be sold in some of the chain’s locations as well as regional grocery and convenience stores.
