The family of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra of (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, have accused the Department of State Service (DSS) of denying their son food in its custody.
Naija News reports that Nnamdi Kanu had remained the in custody of the DSS following a ruling by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
In a statement to newsmen on Monday, Nnamdi Kanu’s brother Prince Kanu Meme also accused the secret police of denying the IPOB leader his medical report after taking his blood for more than 21 times.
Naija News reports that Prince was made aware of these during a routine visit to the detained separatist leader.
According to the IPOB’s leader brother, the DSS is still denying Nnamdi Kanu is rights despite several court pronouncement ordering the Nigerian government to make available to him the medical report.
He said: “Just visited the Alpha Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the Department of State Security Services Abuja. During my interaction with him, he told me that he has been denied food since yesterday.
“As if that wasn’t enough, DSS had also denied him his medical report after taking his blood for more than 21 times. They have continuously disobeyed all the court orders.”
