A move by President Uhuru Kenyatta to inspect and launch various government projects at night has continued to elicit mixed reactions.

Weighing in on the matter, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua lauded the head of state saying his creativity and behaviour resonates with his Maendeleo Chap Chap's (MCC) agenda.
As a result, taking to Twitter on Wednesday, July 7, the Machakos boss invited Uhuru to join his MCC party which he claimed calls for a 24-hour economy so as to create jobs.

"Uhuru should join chap chap, I was jazzed to see President Uhuru opening hospitals at night. This is creativity and getting work done despite COVID-19. Mutua further urged the head of state to visit many parts of Kenya whether day or night and commission government projects.
Five hospitals
Uhuru stepped out on the night of Tuesday, July 6, donning a military jacket while also in the company of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) boss Mohammed Badi and other leaders.
The hospitals launched include two level 2 hospitals at Gichagi in Kangemi and Gatina in Kawangware as well as level 3 hospitals in Mukuru Kwa Rueben, Tassia Kwa Ndege and Our Lady of Nazareth in Mukuru Kwa Njenga.

Reports indicated the hospitals will be operating for 24 hours and the head of state was keen to observe how they will be running especially during the night.
The five hospitals are part of the 24 facilities that the NMS is constructing in the Nairobi slums.
