A man has allegedly killed his youngest brother in Kangundo, Machakos county, following an altercation over food in their home before going into hiding.
According to the Kangundo OCPD, Philis Kanina, the eldest brother confronted the deceased who was preparing the said meal before allegedly slaying him on Sunday, April 4.
“The elder brother was claiming his younger brother is used to eating all the food,” the police officer stated.It was alleged the suspect, who is 26-year-old hit his younger brother using a jembe on the face and chest, killing him instantly before going into hiding.

Kanina said her officers collaborated with the Directorate Criminal Investigation officers ( DCI ) and had recovered the murder weapon.
The OCPD added they subsequently launched manhunt for the suspect who was on the run and urged the residents to provide any information in case they come across the suspect.
An investigation into the tragic incident was also launched.
In a separate story, TUKO.co.ke reported detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Murang'a had launched a hunt for a man suspected to have ended his brother's life.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect, identified as Christopher Mburu Wakahiu, 26, drew a knife and stabbed his brother deep into the left side of his chest, killing him instantly.
The victim, a businessman in Nairobi, is reported to have visited his parents at Gaturi village in Murang'a over the weekend before his life was cut short on the evening of Sunday, January 17.

On his way back, the businessman passed by a site where he had employed his brother (the suspect) as a caretaker to check on the progress of a structure he was building.
The two later got into a quarrel which escalated and turned fatal.
